At Lighthouse, we believe that children are a blessing from the Lord and are to be discipled by their parent(s) in the love of Jesus. To create an opportunity for parents to publicly declare their intent of discipling and dedicating their child(ren), as well as creating space for the Church body to also come alongside parent(s), we practice child dedication.

Child dedication is nothing new in the church as we see it all throughout Scripture! We see it in the presentation of Samuel by Hannah and of Jesus by Joseph and Mary. Paul reminded Timothy that "from a child" he had known the sacred Scriptures. Jesus considered "the little ones" infinitely precious, and he said, "Permit the children to come to Me, do not hinder them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these."
